A few words from Deva & Miten:
Mantras make a difference, not only for the benefits they bring us on a personal level, but also as a healing balm for our troubled world. With this in mind, we have chosen mantras that help us meet life’s daily challenges, including blessing and protecting our children; healing body, mind and spirit; caring for the animals; and celebrating Mother Earth.

21 Day Mantra Meditation Journey Returns

First and foremost, I know it’s been quite a while since I’ve written, I’ll address that in a separate post later, for now I will leave you with one of a few posts from my exciting things to share list =)

Back in May, the Mentors Channel hosted the 21- Day Mantra meditation. I have great news friends. Due to popular demand they have decided to run the free course again coinciding with the world tour of Deva Premal, Mitten and Manose. The 21 day program begins on SEPTEMBER 10th 2013.

Below is my original post from may since the below links etc… apply once again. I hope you take advantage of this special opportunity and join me.

Below is Re-posted from my May 4th entry on the journey:

I am someone who enjoys having things to look forward to each day, especially when they not only make me feel great and refreshed but can make me a better person. Things like yoga months, or a themed type of yoga 21 day challenge, etc… This month my “I feel great and I am excited to get up in the morning even though its cold and barely daylight out” journey is a 21 day Mantra Meditation Journey being presented for free from Deva Premal and Mitten on Mentors Channel.  Want to join me on this three-week  journey into the powerful world of Mantra? I have listed some details below on how you too can participate.

21day

Let me start off by saying that I am not affiliated with this site and or Deva or Mitten.  I’ll be honest I was not a huge fan of Deva and Mitten prior to this transformative journey, and never really listened to their other albums. I’ll have to check them out and give them a chance, but my point is that even if you are not a huge fan of Deva and Mitten I think you will still enjoy this special gift and should take advantage of this opportunity. There’s a saying, there’s no time like the present, so if you have been putting off trying out meditation well, why not grab life by the reins and do it now?

You too can join me and the thousands of mediators worldwide as and explore the healing power of these ancient sounds. You can join by email or Facebook. When you join [for free] you get access to the daily mantra sessions as they are released. You will receive daily emails with the link to the new mantra sessions, as well as some suggestions on ways to bring the mantra practice into your daily activities.  Each day they introduce a mantra with a guided meditation, followed by an exploration into its energies and meanings. If you decide to give it a whirl you can discover how these ancient sound formulas carry us into a state of inner peace and well-being.

Lessons in Life Sometimes Bring Gratitude

I’m on cloud nine and have been this whole weekend for a change of pace. This weather and some changes at work had me feeling really down and out, additionally it left me in a negative head space. Most people who know me well would be surprised that with the gloomy weather outside, to find me in such an upbeat mood today.

I’m feeling such joy, gratitude, love and warmth in my heart. The kindness of strangers can go a long way my friends in cheering someone up. My family was distraught when one of our little chihuahua’s escaped unbeknownst to us. Possibly when a contractor came to work on mom’s kitchen remodel. The temperatures dropped where my family lives, and they couldn’t find our Chi – Steven. After a few days had passed, and fliers had been put up, they still couldn’t locate him, and were beginning to lose hope.

We were worried that due to old age and cold temps, that he had frozen to death somewhere out there, in the pale moonlight. Mom was upset and in trying to make her feel better I mentioned how perhaps since he is really quite old maybe it was his time, and maybe just maybe he wanted to just be alone and not be a burden on us. He has led a long life lovely after all at 15 human years I reminded her.

I continued on with what I hoped was comforting words and went on to say, Now he can run across the rainbow bridge in the sky with his brother Greedo, [another chi we had that passed away a few years back] and they can have all their fill of dog bones, pig ears and “greenies” to their hearts content. Mom laughed and I could tell she felt better. I was so relieved. She does not handle down trodden times well. We spoke for a while more and once I was certain she would be okay we disconnected the line.

When I reached home I lost myself in painting, art through meditation. I chanted a sloka [mantra]. Gayatri, that which saves, brought us back our little furry family member. I learned first hand how  Gayatri mantra are very powerful meditation aids.

A  few days later came our Happy Ending. My heart is absolutely brimming with love and appreciation. I’m grateful and it’s because there really are still good people out there in the world. Some young girls down the street found Steven and returned him home to my family. My family has such gratitude that Steven was found.

My yogaverse:

[aka life in my universe]

Life doesn’t always have happy endings, many things happen so our souls can understand. So we can take in what we needed to learn from these situations. Even if we could wave a magic wand and change things, they would only change back until our souls understood what it is that we needed to learn and experience in this life.

In this latest life lesson, it brought gratitude, hope, contentment, and love. Along with all that, the gentle reminder that as above mentioned, there really are still good people in this world.

More Tea Quotes

“There is always time for tea.”

Like the quote says, there’s always time for tea. Time to stop and smell the roses. We just have to make the time in our busy lives.

I drew this not long ago as part of a meditation through art project. I then stuck it up on my art site http://andysartworks.wordpress.com/

Spiritual Vitamins: Yoga & Meditation

In they way that vitamins, minerals, and supplements nourish our bodies, spiritual vitamins are food for the soul. They are tidbits of truth to our ever ravenous world. While we often take time to care for our bodies, we need to nourish our hearts and spirits as well. Sometimes this additional nourishment is forgotten about in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.

Most of us who perform a yoga practice consistently also tend to be mindful of what we eat. We take into account what our bodies need to perform at there optimum levels. By possessing a healthy mindset, we take vitamins and or supplements if our diets are not meeting all our bodies needs. Spiritual vitamins enrich our souls, our minds and our daily lives.

If I managed to capture your attention and you have read this far [I am humbled, and I thank you] I am going to go out on a limb and say perhaps you are wondering what some examples of “spiritual vitamins” are… don’t worry I won’t leave you hanging =). Spiritual vitamins are yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, for some it might even be prayer or puja’s. Basically anything of a similar nature that promotes health and well-being. Something, an activity perhaps that others might consider off the beaten path, is a “spiritual vitamin”.

Like me if you or someone you know suffers from depression, my “spiritual vitamins” [yoga & meditation] help to nourish ever fiber of my being, ever facet of my soul. Since I perform a regular daily practice, I think of yoga as my “one a day [spiritual] vitamin”. These vitamins can help you change and banish those negative thoughts, it can help keep them at bay, and improve your life. “Vitamins” can also help you become more enlightened after a time and free you from attachments. They can help you get the most out of your life and allow you to tap into unrealized potential.

When I feel the need to turn inward and my mood starts feeling low I know I need an extra dose of my spiritual vitamins. Today is one of those days, so I am going to meditate, move and stretch into some lovely poses. I feel like some calming music that meshes well with any practice.

Deuter’s – Tibet nada himalaya  2 . Youtube even has a playlist which will kick off from the below.

so I ask you, have you had your spiritual vitamins today?
